Pallet collars, crates, cable drums and plywood in full process color.
Book a print trial on your packagingWhy leading wood industries are leaving screen printing for high-resolution UV-cured printing
GSI’s high-resolution printing systems and UV-curable ink make it possible to replace screen printing, printing plates and labels with digital direct printing on industrial packaging.
The systems print in full process color (CMYK) and can also be equipped with SmartWHITE® (CMYK+W) for clear marking on dark or colored surfaces. The result is flexible production, lower costs and hard-wearing marking that withstands transport, handling and outdoor storage.
GSI Nordic is EPAL-certified for marking Euro pallets, including the new requirements for QR-based traceability, and APA-certified in the USA for permanent marking on wood, particleboard and panel products.

Screen printing and printing plates
- A new printing plate for every product, with cost and waiting time
- Changeover time and cleaning of printing plates
- Storage and handling of printing plates
- Pre-printed material and labels in stock
Digital direct printing
- Logo and content changed in a fraction of a second
- No changeover time, no cleaning
- Dry surface immediately after curing, no smearing
- Print when needed, no pre-printed stock
XY table and robot for large formats
An XY table for inline marking of plywood boards up to 2 × 2.5 m with a short cycle time, and a robot application for marking large cable drums. The printers are integrated with robots and linear units. They analyze what is to be printed and choose the most efficient path for each print.
No printing plate costs
The initial cost and waiting time for a new printing plate disappear completely, as do the storage and handling costs for the plates.
Robot integration
The printer controls the robot or linear unit according to the current print to optimize cycle time, for example on large cable drums.
Permanent UV marking
Hard, plastic-like surface that withstands mechanical wear, moisture and UV light. The surface is dry immediately after curing and does not smudge.
Sharp on absorbent substrates
The ink stays on the surface and is not absorbed by the wood fibers. The print stays razor-sharp even on rough and uneven wood.

Barcodes, QR codes and timestamps in every print.
Every print is fully dynamic. Logo and content can be changed in a fraction of a second. That makes the marking future-proof for upcoming legal requirements such as EUDR.
Read about traceability and EUDRWhat packaging manufacturers usually ask us
Are your systems reliable?
Yes, very. Today our printers are installed at several of Sweden's fastest sawmills and largest pallet manufacturers, with considerably better availability and less need for maintenance than the once so familiar industrial dot-matrix printers. Contact us and we will put you in touch with references.
How do I know your product will work in our production?
We can carry out print trials directly on your own material in our lab in Mölndal, at realistic line speeds and throw distances. If needed, we also come out to you and do trial installations on site, directly on your production line.
Can the system be integrated with our existing ERP system?
Yes, the printer can fetch data automatically for every order, which eliminates manual handling and ensures that the right QR code ends up on the right product.
How complicated is it to adapt to the EUDR requirements?
It is extremely simple. You just change the layout in the software and can generate unique QR codes for every single package fully automatically.
Where are your products manufactured and developed?
The printers are developed by GSI's development team in Mölndal, whose core consists of engineers with nearly 20 years each in the marking industry and industrial inkjet printers. The printers are manufactured at GSI's headquarters in Atlanta, USA, where the inks are also developed and manufactured.
